Quick & Easy Homemade Cheese Recipe

Ingredients:

✔ 1 liter (4 cups) whole milk (fresh or store-bought)
✔ 2 tablespoons white vinegar or lemon juice
✔ ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1️⃣ Heat the Milk

  • Pour the milk into a pot and heat over medium heat until it almost starts boiling (about 80-85°C / 175-185°F).

2️⃣ Add Vinegar or Lemon Juice

  • Stir in the vinegar or lemon juice and reduce heat to low.
  • The milk will start curdling immediately—this is the cheese forming!

3️⃣ Strain the Cheese

  • Line a strainer with a clean cloth or cheesecloth and pour the mixture through.
  • Let it drain for 5-10 minutes.

4️⃣ Season & Shape

  • Sprinkle with salt and mix lightly.
  • For crumbly cheese, leave it as is.
  • For a firmer texture, press it into a mold and let it sit for 1-2 hours.
